Longines – On The Fly Extension Link Installation Guide
Tools Required
- Pin-pusher tool
- Small ball-peen or nylon hammer
- Bracelet holder or block (to keep the bracelet stable)
Installation Steps
Remove the clasp from the bracelet
- Use a pin-pusher and hammer to drive out the spring bar that connects the clasp to the bracelet.
Detach the clasp completely.
Remove the original connector link
- Longines bracelets typically use friction (cotter) pins.
- Look for small arrows on the underside of the link showing the direction to push the pin.
- Place the bracelet in the holder with the arrow (or split end) pointing downward.
Using the pin-pusher and hammer, gently drive the pin out and remove the connector link.
Install the Steel Reef On The Fly Extension Link
- Position the extension link where the connector link was removed.
- Insert the Steel Reef-supplied friction pin, starting with the thin, straight end first so the wide, split end goes in last.
- Tap gently with the hammer until the pin is flush.
For the final taps, place the pin-pusher between the pin and hammer to avoid marking the bracelet.
Reattach the clasp
- With the extension link in the open position, slide the clasp’s connector into the extension link’s folding arms.
- Use the pin-pusher and hammer to reinstall the spring bar.
About Bracelet Fit
- You may need to adjust your bracelet attachment point along the clasp’s micro-adjustment holes to achieve your perfect fit.
