Import Duties & Taxes
Overview
Understanding Import Duties for International Orders and Steel Reef's Limitations
Content
Import duties and taxes for international orders are determined by the recipient's local government, based on the value of the shipment and applicable trade agreements. These charges are collected directly by the recipient's country’s customs authority, and not by Steel Reef.
Here’s what you need to know:
- Steel Reef does not charge or collect import duties at checkout.
- As a result, customs fees are non-refundable, even in the case of a return.
If you're unsure about the charges or require clarification, it is recommended to contact the recipient's local customs office.
In the rare event that customs fees have already been paid and a replacement is needed, Steel Reef is willing to mark the parcel with no commercial value where appropriate, to help avoid duplicate charges — though final discretion still rests with customs.
